Eric LeGrand stands up in therapy

Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand has made another development in his recovery from paralysis.

LeGrand tweeted two photos Wednesday afternoon, showing him standing upright in therapy with his mother.

LeGrand's first tweet read: "Standing up little by little in therapy." His second tweet read: "Standing tall, we can't fall. Standing upright again."

The 20-year-old LeGrand suffered a fracture to his C3 and C4 vertebrae while making a tackle on a kickoff return against Army on Oct. 16 at New Meadowlands Stadium. At that time, doctors thought LeGrand would never come off a ventilator and would not walk again. Five weeks later, he proved them wrong by coming off the ventilator.

LeGrand, who has said he believes he'll walk again, continues to defy the odds. Last week, he tweeted: "moving the arms little by little."
