21st Birthday & House of Chayah October Rap Session

Let me give a quick thanks to my brother in Christ, Abdi Farah, for taking the following shots (big ups to CANON lol that camera was ridoculous). What we have here is just a remnant, just an inkling, of the joy of the Lord that is so greatly part of House of Chayah Ministries.  We had folks from DC, Boston & Philly in the house.  A diverse number of colleges and regions were well represented and all for the GLORY of the LORD.  Shout out to my brothers Keith & Cory, my man Joshua Bennett...oh & the brother Jonathan Edwards (just there out of no where lol. good to see you sir).  For those who did not remain with to the early hours of the morning & for those who just weren't able to come through....THIS IS WHAT YOU MISSED!

The purpose of this song "GLORY" is to challenge us to live for a purpose that is bigger than ourselves. This is what the entire "GLORY" album is about. Every song explains a different aspect of GLORY, what it truly is and how we can live it out. Every song on this album will have a mission of giving back to others. A percentage of all digital downloads will be given to different social causes that the listeners can choose to give to personally. We are going to create an interactive social network for everyone to contribute their ideas on how to make a difference by helping those in need in our society through each song on the album. More to come as the album gets closer to launching. It's more than music, it's about using music to spark a movement that makes a difference in our world. Spread the GLORY!

The Glory Album Release Concert will take place December 7th. Reserve your spot on www.jaesonma.com. Seating and space is limited!

House of Chayah is a non-profit organization serving the inner city youth in Philadelphia. We are committed to the health, well-being, growth and personal development of young men and young women. We offer mentoring programs for boys and girls, tutoring, monthly Rap Sessions, and travel to California each year for outreach and ministry building. This fundraiser will help raise funds to continue this ministry and allow us to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to many youth.

What in the world is this Project (215) thing anyway...

There has been lots of questions about who we are, what we do, what this means, etc. etc. Well we are giving the final answers as to the top 15 asked questions.  Our website will be fully up and running Nov. 29, 2010

TOP 15 ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is Project (215) and explain your mission?
Project (215) is a non-profit Christian service/volunteer organization.

Our mission: Propelled forward by our love for Jesus Christ, we effectively mobilize young adults in the city of Philadelphia, using biblical principles to make an impact on our community. This is Project (215).

2. What is the vision for Project (215)?
The vision is to become a global organization that acts a model for replicating non-profit Christian entities to carry out our mission.

3.  Is Project (215) a 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization?
Yes. All donations are tax refundable. For legal purposes our official name is Project 215, Inc.

4. Why is the ministry called  Project (215)?
  A project is something that involves much planning, manpower, resources, and will encounter trials and that is what we have taken on in becoming a service to Philadelphia. Our actions are not limited to one specific area and because of that we are a project. 215 indicates the area we service which is the area code of Philadelphia, hence the (215) with parenthesis.

5. What is an act of love?
An act of love is any activity/event that occurs on a frequency (usually monthly) as a service that will uphold our mission. See the website for the current acts of love.

6. What are Project (215)'s statement of beliefs?
Please see the Statement of Beliefs page on our website. (www.project215.org)

7. What do you do?
For a descriptive list of what we do see our website under acts of love, here is the short version:
  • Feed the homeless and less fortunate
  • Community service, park restoration, and street cleaning initiatives
  • Teach evangelism classes and application strategies
  • Package and prepare meals for those with life threatening illnesses
  • Mentor and hold bible studies for incarcerated youth in juvenile and detention facilities
  • Hold annual community days to give back free food, clothing, supplies to different areas
  • Perform street witnessing and evangelism in different sections of Philadelphia
  • Harvest intimate fellowships of Christian gatherings with games, teachings and discussion
  • Host college tours approaching secular topics with biblical principles and solutions
  • Create opportunities for massive citywide outreach through unified efforts of churches
  • Equip young adults to be servants now to become great leaders in the future
  • Assist anyone who needs our services, help, and manpower to further our mission
  • Act as volunteer organization rooted in love with Jesus as the chief cornerstone
  • Promote and market other Christian event and activities

8. How do I get involved with Project (215)?
                                There are three levels of involvement with Project (215).

I. Join us in any act of love as a VOLUNTEER and render your services when you can

II. Become a MEMBER by going to our website ( www.project215.org ) and filling out an application to be committed. Membership falls in two different levels
          \\In-house :: individuals behind the scenes helping to make the organization work as staff
           \\Street Team :: individuals on the streets doing the hands on services and acts of love

    III. Align your church/ministry/organization with us as a P215 PARTNERby filling out a request on our website at (www.project215.org)

      9. Who are the founding member(s) of Project (215)?
      Dante Moore is the founder and acting director of Project (215).

      10. Are the leaders healthy church members?
      Yes. Every leader in this ministry is a committed believer and an active member at their respective local bodies. Please see the ‘who we are’ page on our website (www.project215.org)  for descriptions of our leadership.

      11. Does Project (215) have the support of churches in Philadelphia? If so, which ones?
      Yes we do have the support of multiple churches and other ministries. We have a process of developing what we call ‘P215 Partners’ which includes churches. We take very seriously who we align ourselves with. Project (215) always requests a statement of beliefs, sits with the Pastor/Sheppard of the church, and establishes a relationship before entering into any agreements. This enables us to promote city-wide unity and also have accountability to our partners for what we do in each community. Lastly this is crucial in equipping and planting new believers in a bible based church for spiritual growth and discipleship.  For a list of our current supporters please see P215 Partners on our website.

      12. What does 1 John 3:18 mean to Project (215)?
      The message we hope to convey wherever we go is that love is an action and a choice, so Choose Love. This verse, 1 John 3:18 says – “Dear little children, let us not love with words or in tongue but with actions and in truth.” (NIV)  In all that we do we attempt to show the love of Christ as opposed to just preaching and proclaiming Him.The best way to love someone is in action and in truth. This serves as our leading verse for all things that we do.

      13. Do you feel Project (215) should be ran through a church rather than outside one? No. We believe firmly if Project (215) was ran through one specific church we would have to conform to how they do things within their denomination and traditions, and that could be a hindrance to our mission and vision. We do believe we should be accountable to our partner churches; however we would not want to limit ourselves to just one church as our ministry bridges the gaps through different denominations and cultural barriers in its.

      14. If another organization of another faith wanted to team up with Project (215), would you allow them? This is circumstantial, but yes we would allow them on the condition of a community effort,as long as they line up with our goals for that community effort and understand we will not compromise our mission and vision. We would like to avoid any competition if they are pushing their own religious message, so that would not be acceptable at one of our hosted programs of events. Project (215) is faith based but the other aspect is community involvement, so there is no problem coming alongside any other faith based organization as long as they understand our stance as a holistic ministry.

      15. Where will Project (215) be in five years? What is the plan for expansion? What about New Jersey, Delaware, and New York?
      Over the next five years we will continue to fulfill and fine tune the mission and pursue the vision. We hope to build our resources, spiritually, physically and financially and also move into a building to help aide us in our mission here in Philadelphia. The goal for expansion is the vision. We have not forgotten about our neighbors in the tri-state area and beyond, but each location has it’s own set of issues that need to combated with social action and love. We would have to analyze each area, find a good leadership to run their branch of the ministry, and begin integrating new projects that way in the future. Stay tuned for expansion into New Jersey first as Project (856) may be in the near future.

      New Spirit of Penn Gospel Choir Concert, November 6th [Part 1 & Part 2]

      I want to extend an opportunity to those who were unable to attend the New Spirit of Penn Gospel Choir concert on November 6th.  God moved in a mighty way & the Glory of the Lord was VERY present.  Many came expecting a concert, yet when God is present we must reverence the King of Kings & nothing less. If we might walk in the Word of Malachi 4:2, revering the Son of Righteousness that healing may rise in His wings, then surely this world will be a sanctuary.

      Psalm 116

       1 I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
         he heard my cry for mercy.
      2 Because he turned his ear to me,
         I will call on him as long as I live.
       3 The cords of death entangled me,
         the anguish of the grave came over me;
         I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
      4 Then I called on the name of the LORD:
         “LORD, save me!”
       5 The LORD is gracious and righteous;
         our God is full of compassion.
      6 The LORD protects the unwary;
         when I was brought low, he saved me.
       7 Return to your rest, my soul,
         for the LORD has been good to you.
       8 For you, LORD, have delivered me from death,
         my eyes from tears,
         my feet from stumbling,
      9 that I may walk before the LORD
         in the land of the living.
       10 I trusted in the LORD when I said,
         “I am greatly afflicted”;
      11 in my alarm I said,
         “Everyone is a liar.”
       12 What shall I return to the LORD
         for all his goodness to me?
       13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
         and call on the name of the LORD.
      14 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD
         in the presence of all his people.
       15 Precious in the sight of the LORD
         is the death of his faithful servants.
      16 Truly I am your servant, LORD;
         I serve you just as my mother did;
         you have freed me from my chains.
       17 I will sacrifice a thank offering to you
         and call on the name of the LORD.
      18 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD
         in the presence of all his people,
      19 in the courts of the house of the LORD—
         in your midst, Jerusalem.
         Praise the LORD.
