I was reading this passage today and it really touched me since I have been struggling with guilt and discouragement since I know I have not been serving and loving God wholeheartedly. This definitely spoke to me and encouraged me because it reminded me of two things. First, that God always fulfills his promises to those who serve him wholeheartedly. Secondly, how God is always willing to forgive when we truly change our hearts and repent. Particularly with the New Year, I thought this could be encouragement for people wanting to change your ways but may feeling bogged down by the enemy’s reminders of by past mistakes. I just wanted to share.
The context is Solomon has just completed building the temple of the Lord that God promised David years before would be completed by one of his sons.

Worship Him.
Heavenly Father, Righteous One, Son of God, Spirit of Revelation, Wisdom and Christ. We give you praise and honor. You are truly perfect, flawless, divine and one. No one is like you. Holy, Holy, Holy is our God. Pour out your mercy on us and your Holy Spirit. May we be covered in the blood of the lamb and grow in your grace. Amen
How do you worship? I'm serious, how do YOU worship? Not what it means to you, or what they did in scripture but how you do it. Truthfully, if you asked me the same question I'd be at a lost as well. I was troubled and baffled at the fact that such an important and foundational concept as Worship could not be explained by me (a certainly, without a doubt and constantly growing born-again Spirit filled believer in Jesus Christ). Huh??!!!
OK, let's break it down: Who, What, Where, How, When and Why??? That should be a good starting point. I believe this piece will be a series because of the gravity of the topic. What's important is that we nail this down. Meditate on the meaning of Worship and the key questions asked in this paragraph (who, what, etc.) Search the scriptures, pray, fast but we urgently need to figure out how we, as His body, worship. Do you worship anything else other than God perhaps? I mean Exodus 34:14 says "Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God." The term "god" can refer numerous things, ideas, etc. I leave you with this song which for some reason reminds me of worship. I hope it stirs something within your soul as well. But we'll tackle this ever-so important concept soon :)
May the Grace of our Lord be with you now and forever. Amen

Shawn comes from the following passage in 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 to discuss 'Sex in the City.'
Be blessed & stay encouraged.

My testimony, pt. 2
[if you missed pt. 1: Christian Carpology: My testimony, pt. 1]
After the concert (which was absolutely amazing, and featured everything from groups of kids running around to a 100-person swag-surf), Nia and Briana suggested that we go for a “treasure hunt”. I was also an expert at treasure hunts; I used to do them all the time as a kid! I had a feeling, however, that what these sisters were suggesting was an endeavor quite different from the the candy-centered escapades I was seeing in my mind.
